Welcome on board, if you are not certain on how to plan your study journey, we have the following learning pathways suggestions:
-
VM1 is the start of your journey with Barral Institute, if your are a qualified osteopath, you can start with LT1 or NM1.
Medical Professionals are welcomed to learn VM. But due to diversity of bodywork professions in Hong Kong, interested parties who are NOT medical professionals are better considered to learn VM if they have manual bodywork experience on regular basis.
-
After completing VM1 & 2, students are encouraged to take LT1 to deepen their understanding on Listening. Otherwise, they can consider pursuing VM3 / VM4, or NM1, depends on class schedule & personal professional requirements.
Vascular courses require students who completed VM4, and better with more thorough study on VM1 to VM4. Retaking VM1 to VM4 is highly recommended, which would improve your precision and accuracy in assessing and treating patients.
New Manual Articular courses could be considered in your plan of study after VM1 &2 and LT1, especially if you are professionally proficient in musculo-skeletal system work.
-
With NM1, and vascular courses, students could take more courses on NM curriculum; or New Manual Articular courses; students with passion on this journey could consider taking some advanced VM courses , and Manual Approach to the Brain (MAB) Series would be very important in treatment effect but require solid and extensive experience using NM1, VM4 and vascular techniques.
Assessment and treatment techniques on emotions are taught in VM5 (previously VM5&6) and MAB series. Emotional work has been a challenge but also could be a tipping point in treatment addressing all possible physical aspects with futile results. Students are encouraged to learn Barral’s approach in treating emotions after religious practice on VM, and NM techniques.
